How To Make Your Perfume Last Longer

If you feel like your perfume wears off before you can even leave your house, you can be frustrated having to constantly spray your favorite scents on. Here are tips to help you smell amazing all day long without feeling like you are bathing in perfume.

Petroleum jelly

Rub a small amount of petroleum jelly on the main areas where you spray your perfume. This includes the insides of your wrists and elbows, behind your neck, and other favorite spots. The moisturizing jelly absorbs the scent without letting it sink into your skin, keeping it in place for longer.

Storage

Perfumes hold their scents longer when they are kept in a cool and dry area, away from the sun. Store your scents in a lovely basket on your dresser or put them on a display case away from windows and the sink to help your favorite aromas last.

Application

The best time to apply perfume is when your skin contains the most moisture, such as right after you put on a scent-free lotion or after you get out of the shower. Don't touch areas of your body you've applied scent to after you put it on (in other words, don't rub your wrists together like you've been taught), and give the perfume a minute or so to dry before you put on clothing.

If you want a strong scent, apply your perfume to hot areas of your body, such as under your midriff, along your neck, and even on your ankles. If you want a milder scent to last all day, simply spray your perfume into the air and then walk into it. Just make sure to close your eyes.

Selection

When shopping for perfumes for sale, pick the brands that have the highest oil concentrations in them. These last the longest scent-wise. A strong base note, or the scent that will be with you as the day wears on, is the one you want to pay the most attention to when selecting a brand, since top notes, or the scents you smell when you first apply your perfume, will be gone shortly after application.

Customize your sent by pairing similar perfumes together. This way you can smell amazing all day long and be the only person wearing your perfume. Choose brands that have similar oil concentrations so you can carry a strong scent all day long without having to constantly reapply your perfumes.
